Mat 3:3
For this is he about whom it was said by way of Isaiah the prophet: THE VOICE OF ONE CRYING IN THE DESERT: PREPARE THE WAY OF THE LORD AND MAKE STRAIGHT HIS PATHS.
For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
For this is he of whom it was said, by Isaiah the prophet: The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make smooth his paths.
Mat 3:4
Now [this] John, his clothes were of the hair of camels and a girdle of skin [was] on his loins and his food [was] locusts and honey of the desert.
And the same John had his raiment of camel's hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey.
And as to this John, his raiment was of camel's hair, and a girdle of skin was upon his loins; and his food was locusts and wild honey.
Mat 3:5
Then Jerusalem went out to him and all Judea and all the region that was around the Jordan.
Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region round about Jordan,
Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the country about the Jordan.
Mat 3:6
And they were baptized by him in the Jordan River when they confessed their sins.
And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins.
And they were baptized by him in the river Jordan, while they confessed their sins.
Mat 3:7
And when he saw many from the Pharisees and from the Sadducees who came to be baptized, he said to them, "Generation of vipers! Who has informed you to flee from the wrath that will come?
But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
But when he saw many of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees, who came to be baptized, he said to them: Generation of vipers, who hath taught you to flee from the wrath that cometh?
Mat 3:8
Produce, therefore, the fruits that are proper for repentance.
Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:
Bring forth the fruits therefore, that accord with repentance.
Mat 3:9
And do not think or say within yourselves that we have Abraham [as a] father, for I say to you, God is able from these stones to raise up sons to Abraham.
And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.
And do not think, and say within yourselves, that Abraham is our father: for I say to you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children to Abraham.
Mat 3:10
Now behold, the ax is placed on the root of the trees. Therefore, every tree that does not bear good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.
And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
And lo, the ax is put to the root of trees. Every tree, therefore, which beareth not good fruit, is felled, and falleth into the fire.
Mat 3:11
I baptize you with water for repentance, but he who comes after me is stronger than I [am], whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire,
I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:
I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance; but he that cometh after me is more powerful than I; whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.
Mat 3:12
he whose winnowing fan [is] in his hand and he will cleanse his threshing floors. And he will gather the wheat to his granaries, and he will burn the chaff in a fire that does not go out."
Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.
His winnowing shovel is in his hand; and he will make clean his threshing-floor. The wheat he will gather into his storehouse; and the chaff he will burn with fire not extinguished.
